SPA - The long summer break is finally over for the teams and drivers of the 2018 FIA Formula 2 Championship. To make the return to action even more exciting, the series is set for its most renowned event at the famed Spa-Francorchamps venue. The high-speed 7-kilometre Belgian venue features some of the most iconic and challenging corners in racing, and the weather is always part of the picture with rain constantly in the forecast.
Returning to the venue after the positive results scored with the team’s Formula 3 operation, PERTAMINA PREMA Theodore Racing will line-up again with the F2 pairing of Sean Gelael and Nyck De Vries. The 23-year-old Dutchman is hoping to keep the positive momentum he showed in the previous round at Hungaroring, where he secured his second win of the season. He is now tied for fourth in the driver standings. On the other hand, the 21-year-old Indonesian is coming from a tough run of luck and is looking forward to getting back to the points at one of the most memorable venues in business.
René Rosin - Team Principal
"We are back on track after a positive run in Hungaroring, and having made it back to victory in a feature race definitely improved our spirits as we saw that we still have great potential and can get the job done. Spa-Francorchamps is a spectacular track, but also one of the most unpredictable in terms of action, with many chances for overtaking, and weather. A tough challenge lays ahead, but we know we have it and will give our utmost to get the job done."
