Mexico City – Indonesian racing driver Sean Gelael received valuable experience during the Free Practice 1 (FP1) session at the Formula 1 (F1) grand prix in Mexico City, Mexico on October28, 2017.
Sean recorded a lap time of 1:21.639 in the FP1 session. More faster than the other Scuderia Toro Rosso driver, Brendon Hartley, who recorded a lap time of 1:21.747 in the same free practice session.
This season, Sean joined his fourth and last FP1 session in Mexico. Previously, he joined his first three FP1 sessions in Singapore, Malaysia and the United States.
Sean has gathered enough experience from the opportunity. He has understood the atmosphere of the F1 competition.
In Mexico, Sean must adapt with the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit. Besides that, he must control the Scuderia Toro Rosso STR12 car.
“Yes, I faced several problems in Mexico. The car was a little bit unpredictable. We faced power and balancing problems during the session. I faced busy traffic during the push lap. Well, it was an extraordinary lesson,” Sean said.
Sean was capable of fulfilling all instructions. He was also praised for providing great feedbacks.
Sean will join the last round of the 2017 Formula 2 season in Abu Dhabi on November 24-26, 2017. He also will join the last test of the 2017 Formula 1 season in the same location few days later.
Sean is Pertamina Arden with Jagonya ayam KFC Indonesia in 2017 Formula 2 Season. He is currently 15th in the Drivers’ Championship Standings with 17 points.
